Resident in Counseling

“I think that somehow, we learn who we really are and then live with that decision.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

The goal of counseling, in my view, is not to eradicate your pain entirely, but rather to empower you to enhance your ability to address it and cultivate a life of greater ease. I wholeheartedly embrace a client-centered approach. I strive to create an environment of genuine connection, tailoring my approach to suit your specific needs. My ultimate hope is to guide you towards discovering your true self and finding your voice, enabling you to develop more genuine and fulfilling relationships.

I work with individuals and relationships, and a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and the consequences of trauma. I hold a particular interest in assisting clients through family transitions, whether it involves navigating conflict, adjusting to the addition of a child, or seeking a sense of balance. Drawing on principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, neuroscience, and psychodynamic theory, I aim to integrate culture and identity into our understanding of your approach to life.

By embarking on this therapeutic journey together, my goal is to support and guide you towards self-discovery, resilience, and personal growth. Through compassion, authenticity, and the power of laughter, we will navigate the challenges you face, uncover your inner strength, and foster positive change. I am dedicated to providing a supportive and empowering environment where you can explore, heal, and transform, leading to a more fulfilling and authentic life.

MORE ABOUT ME:

I have lived three countries and across the United States. I am pleased to have settled in the Richmond area, which I now call home. When I’m not in session, I enjoy spending time outdoors with family. During my spare moments I indulge in baking sweets for anyone willing to enjoy them, and listening to audiobooks.
