Counselor Profile

Caitlin Baker

Graduate Intern

I believe healing happens in connection, not isolation. My role is to meet clients exactly where they are and walk alongside them as they move forward. You are encouraged to come as you are—therapy is a space where things feel lighter when they are shared.

My approach is rooted in curiosity—about you, your story, and what lies beneath what you’re experiencing. In session, I strive to create an environment where individuals and families feel heard, validated, and supported. Therapy with me is collaborative and reflective, focused on helping clients reconnect with what they want for their lives and how they want to move forward.

During my 13 years in the federal government, I served as a Certified Peer Supporter, helping hundreds of employees directly. In that role, people came to me carrying stress, burnout, trauma exposure, and personal challenges. Together, we slowed things down and examined what was weighing on them—without judgment and without pressure to have everything figured out.

From an existential perspective, my work centers on the present moment and the meaning we make of our experiences. I believe that everything has a root, and I use thoughtful, curiosity-driven questions to help clients uncover and examine what’s underneath anxiety, overwhelm, or feeling stuck.

I understand how overwhelming it can feel just to begin therapy—the searching, the logistics, and the pressure to choose the “right” counselor—especially when you’re already carrying a lot. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, emotionally drained, or simply ready to understand themselves better.

My path into counseling has been shaped by both education and experience. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology from Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and will graduate from Marymount University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in December 2026.

You don’t need to have all the answers to take the next step. I look forward to working together and exploring what matters most to you.

MORE ABOUT ME:

Outside of the therapy room, you’ll find me with family and friends — or satisfying my curiosity about the world through travel.

I have a vivid imagination — so I rely on creative outlets like illustrating, painting, writing, and tinkering to help me relax and process.
