Dee Hagan, MA

Resident in Counseling

There are experiences we can have at any stage or age that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or out-of-sync with ourselves. I believe that therapy can help facilitate growth and restore balance and purpose! I am committed to getting down in the trenches with clients and supporting a client through their journey! I focus on developing one’s confidence to establish and expand coping mechanisms to confront a situation, take steps, and utilize resilience and perseverance in solving problems in your life.

My philosophy of counseling is that therapy should be client-centered and holistic with the needs, goals and treatment tailored to each individual, helping them to realize their potential. I work with children, adolescents, individuals and families through a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindful-based counseling. I work with clients to explore how their thoughts and behaviors play a role in various situations. Through this exploration, we collaborate to replace ineffective thoughts and inappropriate behaviors with ones that will support positive and successful experiences–at home, at school/work, etc.

I have an extensive background working with children and adolescents, as well as families. I am passionate about supporting clients’ growth and understanding of themselves and how they can show up in their lives. I have experience working with clients who may be struggling with ADHD, behavioral concerns, depression, family dynamics/ parenting and self-harm/ suicidal ideation. It is my hope that with the support of therapy, clients can find fulfillment and satisfaction within their lives for themselves, their families and their communities.
