Counselor Profile

Jennyfer Lim

Graduate Intern

As an Asian-American woman, I am passionate about working with clients from a multicultural framework, recognizing and valuing the unique experiences of each individual. I try to bring a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances that come with navigating multiple cultural identities.

I utilize a blend of Narrative, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-centered, and Holistic approaches in my work to ensure that I meet the client’s needs. With narrative techniques, I wish to help clients explore and re-author their life stories in ways that align with their values and aspirations. Through CBT, I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and then enable them to develop healthier ways of thinking. By integrating person-centered techniques, I ensure that our work together is rooted in empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard.

I have experience working with adults, teenagers and couples facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal/relational conflict, self-esteem issues, and losses. Additionally, I have worked with teenagers and couples.

I hope to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for clients. I wish to allow clients to feel heard, understood, and supported as they explore their thoughts and emotions. Whether you are dealing with life transitions, identity concerns, or other challenges, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey, offering culturally attuned and compassionate care.
