Resident in Counseling

“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.” – Jon Kabat-Zinn

As a counselor I am committed to being an understanding and flexible presence for my clients because I believe it’s my duty to ensure you are heard, to help facilitate opportunities to heal, and to provide support as you grow. I honor each of my client’s individual identities and aim to work collaboratively with you to understand your specific needs and goals; encouraging you to express this individuality while we address the areas of your life that need special attention.

I take a holistic approach to therapy and address the reciprocal relationship between the mind and body, utilizing multiple techniques in my therapeutic approach including: Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, and Psychodynamic therapy. When appropriate, I incorporate mindfulness and calming techniques to create a safe space and provide my clients with tools they can use outside of therapy.

I have been fortunate in my career to provide counseling to a wide range of client populations in different settings, including individual and group counseling to people dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life adjustment/transitions, stress, self-esteem, and communication issues. I also have experience co-facilitating equine assisted psychotherapy groups for cancer survivors and justice-involved individuals.
