On Saturday, June 29th, 2024, Sunstone Counseling proudly participated in the 3rd Annual Arlington Pride Festival at Long Bridge Park, National Landing. This vibrant event brought together a diverse community to celebrate love, acceptance, and the importance of mental health.
The Arlington Pride Festival, a hallmark of inclusivity, featured a day filled with engaging activities, local talent, delicious food, and colorful entertainment. Sunstone Counseling was thrilled to be a part of this celebration, setting up a booth that offered attendees valuable information and resources about mental health support. Embracing the theme “Take Pride in Your Mental Health,” the team handed out cards with this empowering message, encouraging everyone to prioritize their mental well-being.
Our dedicated counselors greeted visitors of the Sunstone booth with warm smiles and open hearts. They provided insights into the importance of mental health and invited attendees to engage in meaningful conversations about mental health challenges and the resources available to help them navigate these issues. The team distributed pamphlets detailing the variety of counseling services offered by Sunstone, from individual therapy to group sessions.
Reflecting on the event, Amy Clay, one of the co-founders of Sunstone Counseling, shared her thoughts on the significance of their participation:
“Being part of the Arlington Pride Festival is an honor for us. It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of community, support, and acceptance. At Sunstone, taking pride in your mental health is as important as celebrating who you are. We are committed to providing a safe space for everyone to find the support they need. Events like these reinforce the message that mental health is a crucial part of our overall well-being, and we are here to support our community every step of the way.”
She adds, “The festival was not just an opportunity to celebrate but also to connect with the community on a deeper level. The outpouring of support and interest in mental health services was a testament to the growing awareness and destigmatization of mental health issues.”
As a group, Sunstone Counseling looks forward to participating in future events and continuing its mission to promote mental health awareness and support within the community.
