Counselor Profile
Dega Sabrie
Resident in Counseling
As a dedicated mental health counselor, I provide compassionate and effective counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I support clients navigating a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, emotional regulation, and trauma.
I have extensive experience working with children and families, utilizing play therapy techniques to address concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, and family dynamics. Play therapy allows children to explore their emotions, develop coping skills, and build resilience. My work also extends to adolescents and adults, providing a safe, supportive space for personal growth and healing.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, incorporating Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. My clinical training includes expertise in body image concerns, emotional regulation, trauma, and parent support.
I am passionate about guiding, educating, and empowering clients and their families to prioritize mental wellness while advocating for stigma reduction through positivity and self-acceptance. I am culturally competent and fluent in Somali.
