“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better.” – The Lorax

While this quote touches on the importance of being kind to our planet, it also speaks to the courage it takes to care about your own healing, growth, and development. To me, meaningful change often begins with care, such as the care you show yourself by reaching out. Beginning therapy can be overwhelming, especially when you are trying to find someone who would be the right fit, while also navigating emotions or circumstances that may feel out of your control. My goal as a counselor is to create a space where you feel heard and supported. I hope to help you better understand yourself, your relationships, and the patterns that may be holding you back. I also understand that not every challenge you face is something you can simply change on your own. When outside circumstances impact your well-being, I will do my best to support and advocate for you as we work together.

My philosophy of counseling is client-centered, strengths-based, and collaborative. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of counseling. Counseling should be shaped around each person’s unique needs, goals, and experiences. Whether you are hoping to work through specific challenges, grow into the best version of yourself, or simply need a safe space to share and feel heard, I will meet you where you are. My aim is to create an environment where therapy is something you can look forward to. I want clients to leave sessions feeling empowered and equipped with skills and strategies that can make life feel more manageable.

In sessions, I may draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, person-centered counseling, solution-focused techniques, and strengths-based strategies. These approaches can help us explore thought patterns, build self-awareness, identify practical next steps, and focus on the strengths you already carry. I will support you in developing tools that feel useful both inside and outside the counseling space.
